Poke Persona

I have been asked from time to time what Pokemon I would be. What I thought represented me. Several friends of mine online have Pokemon representations of themselves, and at times I felt left out.

And then, mentioned in Unbeatable that he was going to make a character based on me that used a key as a weapon. I saved him the trouble! (Just hope he didn't already do it.)

I decided on Kirlia for reasons I'm not 100% on myself. I like Psychic types, but Fire is my favorite. I wanted to be humanoid, I think. I think I would have looked conceited if I had done Gardevoir . . . so Kirlia it is. While drawing, I realized it actually fit quite well. It's "hair" is already similar to mine, and you could almost say the horns are streaks in that sense too. My Kirlia has slightly different "hair" in shape, and the "skirt" doesn't stick straight out.

If this Kirlia was not going to just be named Vye, I think I would use Vyv, like short for "Vivian" but with a 'y.' As for the key, the explanation goes that one day she found it in a cave and is curious to find what it unlocks. She takes it everywhere hoping to uncover what the key goes to. In the meantime, she uses it as a weapon either by physically hitting enemies with it, or whiping it around with her psychic powers. I was going to draw it with jagged edges like what you'd see in keys nowadays . . . but the Kingdom Hearts nerd in me made it look more like a Keyblade. I guess it's a really old key?

Personality wise, "Vyv" likes to fight battles, but for fun and practice. It's all a game to her. But if it becomes clear the battle is "for real" or really getting serious, and it's clear her opponent isn't just playing, she becomes more timid and tries to back out. She will continue to fight if she has to, but doesn't enjoy it and feels bad after it's over no matter who wins. "Vyv" often tries making battles more complicated than they need to be, trying to make them "fancy." She tries to be friendly but can be a little shy.

I will use this persona from time to time. I have a few gags planned already. If you would like to use it for something, just ask first.

. . . I am thinking about a whole comic series but am trying to resist. Maybe it'd help me get back into Pokemon stuff though. We'll see.
